Featuring an innovative dual cavity, the design is engineered to support optimised weight distribution, resulting in a dramatic boost to MOI, leading to enhanced forgiveness and consistency across the face.

Black Ops Irons leverage PXG’s patented technologies, incorporating an industry-leading thin face, Power Channel Technology, and XCOR2 Technology. These advancements synergistically improve sound and feel, while also producing remarkably fast ball speeds and achieving an optimal high-launch trajectory. PXG Black Ops Irons present a thicker top rail and larger face profile, paired with increased offset as is traditional in a game improvement iron. Designed with a large and versatile sole, this iron performs well for a wide variety of players seeking unmatched forgiveness and explosive ball speed.

The Dual Cavity Design is engineered to remove mass from the center of the club and redistribute that weight to the perimeter - significantly boosting MOI. The Weight Savings Insert on the outer cavity removes mass from the center of the club allowing the CG to be placed lower and farther back for maximum forgiveness. The inner cavity is filled with PXG’s industry leading XCOR2 Technology. This lightweight polymer helps reduce the mass from the core of the clubhead to dramatically increase MOI and forgiveness on both heel-toe, and on high-low mishits.

XCOR2 is PXG’s revolutionary polymer core material, the result of years of research and development, first used in PXG’s flagship 0311 GEN6 Irons. Extremely lightweight, XCOR2 helps reduce the mass of the core whichenables more weight to be positioned low and to the perimeter of the backsideof the clubhead, dramatically increasing MOI. Combined with PXG’s variableultra-thin face technology, XCOR2 enhances the C.O.R. for extreme faced eflection and out-of-sight ball speed.

Variable Ultra-Thin Face

Since inception, PXG irons have maintained the thinnest face in golf. Made from high-strength HT1770 maraging steel, the variable ultra-thin face measures a mere 0.050" (~1.27mm) thick. Combined with PXG’s proprietary XCOR2 Technology, these advancements help to increase distance and forgiveness while also enhancing sound and feel.

Power Channel Technology

Power Channel Technology is the proprietary U-shaped corridor built into the internal surface of the club face to increase deflection and bend in the top sector. The channel creates face movement and transfers energy to simultaneously increase launch angle, trajectory, and ball speed.
