"In fact it can do up to 500 hours in a washing machine without experiencing any loss in how waterproof it is. We actually recommend that people wash their Galvin Green waterproofs regularly, the reason is that Gore-Tex works best when it is clean. The water still won't penetrate the fabric - but it will cling to it if there are other properties in the way."
