	Taylor-Made R5 Dual Exotic Shaft Drivers The r5 dual Type D and Type N are the most forgiving drivers that TaylorMade has ever created. Their remarkable forgiveness arises from two advanced technologies. 1) Super-Thin Wall technology, which allowed TaylorMade engineers to make the heads of these drivers exceptionally large -- 450 cubic centimeters. 2) TaylorMade Launch Control (TLC) technology. Because these drivers are so forgiving, the r5 dual Type N and r5 dual Type D are extremely easy to hit, inviting players to make an aggressive swing without fear of mis-hitting the ball. The increased distance that is made possible by that is a welcome side affect. The r5 dual Type D's "pulled heel" clubhead shape features a prominent bulge near the heel, which helps move the CG location even closer to the heel, making it easier to rotate the clubhead properly through impact to produce a distance-enhancing draw. The r5 dual Type D's clubface is also aligned slightly closed to promote confidence and contribute to the production of draw-spin. The r5 dual Type N is engineered with a large yet classically shaped head that sits powerfully and squarely behind the ball at address. The r5 dual drivers are extremely large, measuring 450 cubic centimeters. Heads that size are made possible by TaylorMade's Super-Thin Wall (STW) casting technology, which allows TaylorMade engineers to make the clubhead walls 20% thinner than those of a typical titanium wood. Both the r5 dual Type D and Type N are deep-faced, increasing the player's opportunity to achieve "vertical-gear effect." Vertical-gear effect refers to what happens when impact is made with the upper part of the clubface, above the CG. When that happens, the clubhead rotates clockwise slightly at impact for right-handed golfers, which counteracts the backspin normally created by clubface loft. The result is a higher launch angle and less backspin, a combination that promotes greater distance. The r5 dual Type D comes equipped with TaylorMade's M.A.S.2 5-55 shaft which is engineered with a soft tip that delivers a powerful "kick" through impact that also promotes draw-spin, a higher trajectory and greater distance. The r5 dual Type N comes with the M.A.S.2 5-65 shaft, a high-performance graphite model whose characteristics are finely tuned to work in concert to deliver the clubface squarely to the ball for a neutral, controllable, straight and long flight.
