The New Science Of Straight! The Ping K15 driver features patent pending Straigt Flight Technology that uses an extreme external weight pad to move 10% of the clubhead mass towards the heel. By repositioning the centre of gravity this provides a natural rotation through impact. The design of the K15 driver means that the external sole weight pad is largely concealed. The K15 has a larger 460cc head design that moves weight away from the clubface to push the centre of gravity backwards and provide a higher trajectory. By increasing the length from heel to toe Ping have also been able to create a larger surface to provide high levels of forgiveness and higher ball velocity. Ping's own Ultra Thin Crown Technology has been utilised to redistribute 8 grams to the external weight pad and further enhance the position of the centre of gravity and moment of inertia. Utilizing finite element analysis and the latest in design software, PING engineers develop metal woods in a virtual world to ensure the highest level of performance before the clubs even reach the first tee. Factors such as moment of inertia (MOI), center of gravity (CG) location, crown structure and face thickness are carefully studied with the goal of designing longer, straighter and more consistent metal woods. Even the club's acoustics are analyzed to ensure a powerful sound and feel. The Ping K15 driver features the TFC 149D graphite shaft that uses high balance point technology that allows the head mass to increase without affecting swing weight or the overall club weight to allow clubhead speed to remain consistent. This allows the K15 driver to generate higher ball speeds for longer and straighter drives. Ping K15 Driver Features: Ultra-thin Crown Technology- Weight saved by thinning the crown was re-distributed to SF Tec's external weight pad to optimize the center of gravity and generate a high Moment of Inertia for added forgiveness. Straight Flight Technology (SF Tec)- SF Tec provides substantial heel weighting to help square the face for exceptionally straight drives tee shot after tee shot. Enhanced Face Design- The K15's larger surface area is highly forgiving on off-center hits and generates faster ball speeds for added distance. Drive the Ball Straighter and Longer- Assisted by the Ping innovation of Straight Flight Technology (SF Tech), the Ping K15 places approximately 10% of the head mass into the heel of the club, helping to square the club face through the hitting zone for consistently straight tee shots. Large 460 Head- The K15 is also able to offer distance gains by combining a large-profile, 460cc head, and a club face that is longer heel to toe. The MOI is sizeable for consistent performance and forgiveness across the hitting surface. This design positions the center of gravity low and back to generate high launch and low spin.
