We have the facility to test and custom fit any Ping Golf Equipment with the use of the Ping Fitting Bag and golf simulator/launch monitor.

Ping Custom Fit Process:

In order to get the correct Ping Custom Fit Golf Irons or Woods, firstly our PGA professional staff will assess your swing, playability and handicap range using our smart golf simulator and launch monitor, from this we can test recommend a particular club head and shaft type to suit your needs using all the simulator features listed at the bottom of the page. Once the correct head type, shaft type and shaft flex has been determined with then go on to the traditional static measurements of club head colour code for lie angle, shaft length and grip colour code for grip size.

Iron Colour Code:

The irons colour code is based upon the lie angle of the club, there are numerous different colour codes all with different lie angles. Lie angle is determined as to where the sole of the club strikes the ground and the shot shape it creates. If the club is too flat and needs to be more upright, then the toe of the club will dig into the ground, creating a divot that goes to the right causing the clubface to open creating a fade or slice. If the club is too upright and needs to be flatter, then the heel of the club will dig into the ground, creating a divot that goes to the left causing the clubface to close creating a pull or hook.

It is essential to get the correct lie angle that suits you as everybody swings the club differently with different outcomes. We are able to accurately get the correct lie angle for you by using the Ping Dynamic Swing test. We do a series of tests and strikes taking count of where the sole hits the mat on each strike. Once we have enough information we can assess and choose the correct iron colour code for you.

Shaft Length:

Shaft length is based upon your wrist to floor measurement and how you strike the ball. If you have a tendency to consistently hit the ball thin you may need slightly longer shafts. If you have a tendency to hit the ball consistently thick then you may need slightly shorter shafts. To get the correct shaft length our PGA Professionals will assess your ball flight and striking along with taking the wrist to floor measurement. From all the information obtained the fitter will recommend you the correct shaft length to suit you and give you the best performance.

Grip Colour Code:

Ping offer a variety of grip sizes to fit different hand sizes. Since grip sizes influences your wrist action and therefore the direction of you shots it is vital to get the correct grip size. Ping colour coded grips are available in six different diameters. We take different measurements of your hand to determine which grip size is correct for you. Once the neutral grip has been determined we can the take into account if you require any different sized grip for instances such as controlling a fade or slice but having slightly thinner grips, or larger grips to control a hook. Either way the fitter will provide you with the correct grip thickness and colour code for your particular game.

The simulator offers different settings for custom fitting using the range mode for woods or even hitting off the tee on the golf course. When using any of the following clubs; fairway clubs, rescues, hybrid , irons we can use the variable distance setting hitting to a green with a flag-stick for total fitting accuracy.

Using Our pure flight monitor allows us to get a true PTR (percentage transfer ratio) for each shot. This PTR is a percentage which calculates and measures the effectiveness of the clubs Sweet spot, shaft type and consistency. This system if vital in pinpointing which shaft and club head is giving the best possible performance as the higher the PTR the better as the shaft and club head is giving you more distance, better trajectory and more consistency.
