Galvin Green Washing Instructions:

There is often a bit of confusion as to whether or not you should machine wash your dirty waterproof clothing. The primary worry is that by washing you may have a negative impact on its waterproof properties, making the material more susceptible to water leakage.

However according to Mats Lundqvist, the cheif designer for Galvin Green, nothing could be further from the truth. "One of the key characteristics of the Gore-Tex membrane, unlike other membranes it does not deteriorate," he explains. "In fact it can do up to 500 hours in a washing machine without experiencing any loss in how waterproof it is. We actually recommend that people wash their Galvin Green waterproofs regularly, the reason is that Gore-Tex works best when it is clean. For example water will cling to things such as mud or dirt, which can give off the appearance of being wet. The water still won't penetrate the fabric - but it will cling to it if there are other properties in the way."

Washing Instructions - Wash using a normal 40° wash WITHOUT fabric softener or bleaching agents.
