The black polymer insert that featured in the S9 is retained in the Cobra S2 Iron but has been lowered to help move the weight of the clubhead lower and further back to make it less visible at address and to encourage a higher launch trajectory. The full cavity back plate has also been redesigned to improve the visual of the club and to help reduced vibration and improve the feel of the S2 iron. Indeed, sound and feel have been at the forefront of Cobra's thining and using their advanced computer modelling system Cobra have also addressed the problems of sound and feel which can beset multi material irons. The S2 also has refined aesthetics compared to the S9 and players will immediately the straigher leading edge, shorter clubhead and reduced offset which help to give the S2 a tour like profile. Most importantly Cobra have also redesigned the sole making it a mid sole that inspires confidence like a wide sole but gives all the performance benefit of a mid sole. The Cobra S2 irons have been designed to optimize distance and control while providing the feel and sound that better players demand.
